Alura vs eRank: Which Etsy Tool Earns Its Subscription?
September 20, 2026
Alura vs eRank comes down to a single question, and it is not price: do you want more tools or more allowance? Alura sells a shop-management bundle (research plus listing optimisation, Pinterest pinning, Etsy Ads, email and A/B tests), and its plans widen the bundle as you climb. eRank sells keyword research and listing audits, has sold them for years, and its plans mostly raise the daily ceiling on how much of them you can do. Both have a free tier you can live on for a while.
The short answer: pick eRank if keyword research is the job and you want the cheapest serious way to do it every day; pick Alura if you are currently paying for two or three separate tools that Alura would collapse into one bill. Alura’s first paid tier is $7.99 a month against eRank’s $5.99, so the money is not what decides this.
Every plan, price and limit below was read from each company’s own pricing page in September 2026: alura.io/pricing and erank.com/plans. These change; open the page before you subscribe.

What Alura costs, and what each tier unlocks
Alura’s pricing page shows four plans and a monthly/annual toggle labelled “Save up to 50%”. As of September 2026 the toggle does not display the annual figures, only the monthly ones, so check the number at checkout before committing to a year.
| Plan | Price | What it adds |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0.00/mo | Up to 5 daily searches/tool, optimise 10 listings, research databases (limited), profit calculator, Chrome extension |
| Basic | $7.99/mo | Up to 50 daily searches/tool, optimise up to 100 listings, lists & folders, AI responses (100/mo), customer followups (50/mo), priority support |
| Growth | $14.99/mo | 10x+ usage of every tool, advanced data & filters, full research databases, Pinterest marketing (15/day), A/B tests (4 active), limited Analytics Suite, Etsy Ads optimization |
| Professional | $29.99/mo | Unlimited usage of every tool, connect multiple shops, export data to CSV |
Two things worth knowing before you compare it to anything:
- The free plan is a real tier, not a trial. Alura’s FAQ says you can sign up “without submitting any credit card information”, and that the free plan “includes access to all tools, but with a limited number of searches”.
- There is a 7-day cancellation window. The same FAQ describes “a no questions asked 7-day cancellation period” on all plans, after which cancellation runs to the end of the billing period and the account drops to free.
The shape of Alura’s ladder is that the marketing half only arrives at Growth. If Pinterest pinning, Etsy Ads optimisation and A/B tests are the reason you are considering Alura, your real price is $14.99, not $7.99.
What eRank costs, and what each tier unlocks
eRank’s ladder is unusually simple to reason about: nearly everything is on every tier, and the plan sets your daily allowance.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual | Keyword lookups/day | Listing audits/day | Competitors | Connected listings |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 5 | 5 | 1 | 1 shop, 50 listings |
| Basic | $5.99 | $65.99 ($5.50/mo) | 100 | 50 | 5 | 200 |
| Pro | $9.99 | $94.99 ($7.92/mo) | 200 | 200 | 50 | 4,000 |
| Expert | $29.99 | $269.99 ($22.50/mo) | 500 | 500 | 200 | 5,000 |
The free plan’s page wording is “no time limit”, and its limits reset daily rather than monthly: five keyword lookups, five listing audits and one AI Listing Helper use every day, indefinitely. For a seller who works on one or two listings an evening, that is a genuinely workable permanent setup, and it is the single strongest argument in eRank’s favour.
What eRank does not sell at any price: Pinterest scheduling, Etsy Ads management, email marketing, customer follow-ups or A/B testing. Its Chrome extension gathers keyword and shop data on Etsy; it does not run your marketing.
Who should pick which
- Pick eRank if keyword research and listing audits are the job, you are price-sensitive, and you work a little every day. Its daily reset suits that rhythm, and $5.99 is the cheapest serious entry point of the two. A seller who never opens a Pinterest tool is paying Alura for shelf space.
- Pick Alura if you already pay for a separate Pinterest scheduler, an ads tool or an email tool. Collapsing those into $14.99 a month alongside your research is a real saving, and the A/B tests are something eRank has no answer to.
- Stay with Alura on Professional if you run more than one shop. Multi-shop is gated to the $29.99 tier, and eRank’s answer at the same price is a bigger daily allowance on one shop rather than several shops.
- Stay with eRank if what you actually need is more of the same work, faster. Moving from Basic to Pro doubles your lookups for $4; moving up Alura’s ladder mostly buys categories of tool you may never open.
- Run both free tiers for a week. Neither needs a card, and neither free plan expires. A week of real use settles this better than any table, including this one.
How to switch without losing anything
Neither tool holds your listings (those live on Etsy), so switching costs you saved research, not inventory.
- Export or screenshot your saved keyword lists first. Alura’s CSV export is on the Professional plan only, so on a lower tier this is copy-and-paste work.
- Start the new tool’s free tier before cancelling the old one. Both are free with no card, so there is a week where you pay for nothing extra.
- Mind the cancellation windows. Alura’s 7-day no-questions period is generous at the start and irrelevant in month eight; after that, cancellation runs to the end of the billing period.
- Re-run your three best-selling listings through the new tool. If the answers change your mind about a title or a tag set, the switch paid for itself.
The step both of them stop short of
Here is what a feature comparison hides. Alura and eRank both help you decide what words to target. Neither is built around the hour that follows: sitting down and writing an Etsy title inside the 140-character limit, filling all 13 tags without repeating yourself, and turning the same notes into a description and the Shopify fields beside it. Alura meters AI responses by plan (100 a month on Basic); eRank gives one AI Listing Helper use a day on free and more by tier. In both cases the writing is a metered extra inside a research subscription, not the thing the subscription is for.
If research has never been your bottleneck (you know your keywords, and the evening disappears into the writing), that is the gap ListingBrief AI is built for. You paste rough product notes and get an Etsy title inside the character limit, a full set of 13 tags, a description and the matching Shopify SEO fields, checked against Etsy’s published rules. Every account gets 5 free generations a day and no credit card, and Pro plans start at $9.99 a month with unlimited fair-use generation rather than a credit counter.
You can test the writing half on its own, for nothing, with the free Etsy title generator and Etsy tag generator, and if you want the fuller picture on either tool here, there is a deeper read in our eRank alternative guide and our Alura alternative guide.
The verdict
Alura vs eRank is a bundle-versus-allowance decision. eRank is the better buy for the seller whose job is keyword research and listing audits, full stop: cheaper at every rung, with a free plan that resets daily and never expires. Alura is the better buy for the seller running a shop across several channels who would otherwise pay three bills, but its useful tier is Growth at $14.99, not Basic at $7.99, so price it honestly. And whichever you pick, the listing still has to get written.
