Sale Samurai Alternative: 5 Options Compared (September 2026)

Most people searching for a Sale Samurai alternative are looking at one number: $19.99 a month for a single plan, when eRank’s Basic tier sits at $5.99 and Alura’s at $7.99. That is the honest headline, and it settles the question for a lot of sellers. But price is not the only reason to switch, and it is not always the right one. Sale Samurai sells two things its cheaper rivals genuinely do not, and if you use either of them, moving to save $14 a month is a downgrade dressed as a saving.

This article reads each company’s own pricing page as of September 2026, lays out what Sale Samurai’s one plan actually includes, and sorts the alternatives by the job you need done rather than by star rating. It also says plainly who should stay with Sale Samurai, because for one kind of seller the answer is “nobody else does this”.

Every plan, price and limit below was read from each company’s own pricing page in September 2026. These change; open the page before you subscribe.

What Sale Samurai’s one plan actually buys

Sale Samurai keeps its pricing page short. As of September 2026 there is one paid plan at $19.99 a month, or $199.90 a year shown as “$16.65 /mo” and framed as “Two months free, every year”. No free plan is offered on the page as of October 2026: the Freemium card that used to sit beside them is no longer shown, so the only way in without paying is the trial. Every plan carries a 3-day free trial with “full access to all features”, and the FAQ says there is “No credit card required to sign up” and you can “Cancel anytime during or after the trial with no questions asked.”

Two things it sells are worth naming before you leave, because the cheaper options do not sell them:

The trade-off is that there is no free tier to stay on. Three days of full access is enough to judge the extension, and then you pay or leave. eRank’s free allowance is daily, resets, and never expires, which for a seller working one listing at a time is a different product entirely.

If price is the reason: eRank at $5.99

eRank is the cheapest serious Etsy research tool, and it is a like-for-like swap for most of what Sale Samurai does. Its plans page as of September 2026 lists Free at $0 “no time limit”, Basic $5.99/mo ($65.99 billed annually, shown as $5.50/mo), Pro $9.99/mo ($94.99 annually) and Expert $29.99/mo ($269.99 annually).

What matters most in this comparison is the free tier’s shape:

Free: 5 keyword lookups/day · 1 shop, 50 listings · 5 listing audits/day · 1 AI Listing Helper use/day

Those limits reset every day, indefinitely. A seller refreshing one listing at a time can run a whole shop on that and never pay. Basic raises it to 100 keyword lookups and 50 listing audits a day with 5 competitors monitored; Pro to 200 and 200 with 50 competitors and 4,000 connected listings.

eRank is better for: anyone switching for price, anyone who wants a free tier they can live on rather than sample, and anyone whose real routine is auditing existing listings.

What you lose: the in-Etsy research surface is a Chrome extension here too, but there is no A/B test of any kind. If you switch to save money and you were split-testing titles, you are giving that up.

If you want more than research in one bill: Alura at $7.99

Alura’s pricing page lists Free at $0.00/mo, Basic $7.99/mo, Growth $14.99/mo and Professional $29.99/mo, with an annual toggle advertised as “Save up to 57 % on annual billing”. Its FAQ confirms “you can sign up for a free account without submitting any credit card information”, that the free plan “includes access to all tools, but with a limited number of searches”, and the pricing page puts a 7-day money-back guarantee on every paid plan.

The reason to pick Alura over eRank is breadth: alongside keyword research it carries the shop-side tools the others leave out: Pinterest pinning described on its own page as a way to “Automatically pin your listings to drive free traffic from Pinterest”, follow-up email to buyers, and A/B testing. That last one is the closest thing on this list to Sale Samurai’s A/B Listing Tester, at $12 a month less.

Alura is better for: the seller who is currently paying for Sale Samurai plus something else for email or Pinterest, and could collapse both bills into one.

If you research products, not keywords: EverBee

EverBee answers a different question: not “what do people search” but “what is actually selling”. Its pricing page as of September 2026 lists Hobby at $0/month, “Free forever”, Growth at $24.99/month (“That comes to $468 $299 per year”, a 36% annual discount) and Business at $69/month (“Billed annually at $828 - save $360”). Hobby includes “Product Analytics: views, reviews, favorites” and “Keyword Research: 10 keywords”; Growth adds sales, revenue and conversion rate per listing, unlimited keyword research with Keyword Score, and “AI Actions: 100 actions per month”.

Note that this is the one alternative here that costs more than Sale Samurai. Its FAQ is blunt about trials: “No, we currently don’t have a free trial. However, the Hobby plan itself is completely free and doesn’t require any credit card information to sign up.”

EverBee is better for: sellers deciding what to make next. It is a poor swap if your shop is settled and your problem is getting existing listings found.

If you want to buy it once: Marmalead

Marmalead is the only one on this list you can stop renting. Its pricing page lists $19/mo paid monthly, $53 paid quarterly (“Save $16 or 7%”, $18/mo), $190 paid annually (“Save $38 or 16%”, $16/mo) and a $300 lifetime licence paid once, framed as “Pay once, save $840 (73%) over 5 years”. Everything is on every plan, so there are no caps to reason about, and there is no free plan and no trial, so there is no way in without paying.

Its distinctive parts are the MarmaMeters scores, letter-graded listings, and forecasting: “Keyword Seasonality” showing “over a year’s worth of activity for every keyword”, and “Keyword Forecasting” that will “Gaze 3 months into the future”.

Marmalead is better for: an established shop that has already decided keyword research is a permanent line item and would rather pay $300 once than $19.99 a month forever. At Sale Samurai’s rate, $300 is fifteen months.

Who should stay with Sale Samurai

Switching is the wrong call if either of these is you:

And if the yearly rate works for you, $199.90 a year is $16.65 a month, which narrows the gap to eRank’s Pro tier considerably.

The job none of the five is centred on

Here is the thing a price table hides. All five of these are research tools, and every one of them treats writing the listing as a metered extra. Sale Samurai’s Listing Creator will “auto-generate titles and descriptions” and “Fill all 13 Etsy tags with ranking terms in a single click”, on a paid plan. eRank gives you one AI Listing Helper use a day on the free tier. EverBee meters “AI Actions” by the month. Marmalead’s AI critiques a description and generates FAQs.

That is a good deal if research is your bottleneck and the copy is a bonus. It is a bad deal the other way round. Plenty of sellers already know exactly what they make and who buys it. They have the keywords. What takes the whole evening is writing a title that fits Etsy’s 140 characters and still reads like a product instead of a keyword pile, filling all 13 tag slots with genuinely distinct phrases rather than one keyword spelled five ways, and writing a description a buyer finishes. For that seller, a $19.99 research subscription is an expensive way to buy a copy quota.

That is the job ListingBrief AI is built around. Three free tools (an Etsy title generator, an Etsy tag generator and a Shopify description generator) each draft one field from your product notes with no account and no card, following what the marketplace publishes about that field: its character limit, how many you get, and what belongs in it. Signing in gives you 5 free generations of a full listing a day, and Pro is $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year with no credit counter and no per-listing charge. It does not do keyword research, sales estimates or competitor tracking. If you need those, you still need one of the five above, and this sits beside it rather than replacing it.

How to switch without losing anything

  1. Export what you rely on first. Saved keyword lists and tracked competitors do not move between tools. Copy the shortlist you actually reuse into a spreadsheet before you cancel.
  2. Run the free tier of your candidate alongside for a week. eRank’s free plan never expires and Alura’s needs no card, so this costs nothing but two sign-ups. Sale Samurai has no free tier to keep, so if you want to compare side by side, run its 3-day trial, which needs no card, in the same week.
  3. Cancel at the right moment. Sale Samurai’s FAQ says you can “Cancel anytime during or after the trial with no questions asked”, but if you are on the $199.90 annual plan, you have already paid the year, so switch when it renews rather than eating the remainder.
  4. Decide what the tool is for. If, after a week, the thing you open it for is “what should I write”, the swap you want is not another research subscription.

The short answer

If you are leaving on price, eRank. If you want research plus Pinterest, email and A/B tests in one bill, Alura. If the question is what to make next, EverBee. If you would rather buy once, Marmalead. If you split-test listings or research inside Etsy, stay with Sale Samurai: those are the two things $19.99 buys that the cheaper options do not sell. And if listings take you all evening to write, none of the five is aimed at that, and our free tools will tell you in a couple of minutes whether the writing half is really your problem.
