Sale Samurai Review 2026: What One Plan Buys, and Who It Suits

Short version of this Sale Samurai review: Sale Samurai is an Etsy research platform with a free Chrome extension, a 3-day free trial and one paid plan that includes every tool. As of September 2026 that plan costs $19.99 a month, or $199.90 a year. It is worth paying for if you want product and keyword research inside Etsy itself, and if you would use its A/B Listing Tester. It is a weaker buy if you only need keyword lookups, because cheaper tools cover that, or if your real bottleneck is writing listings, because its Listing Creator starts from keywords and you still shape the copy around your product.

Below: what each option costs, what Sale Samurai is genuinely good at, where it stops, who should buy it, and what to use instead when it is the wrong shape for your shop.

Every price and quoted line about Sale Samurai below was read from salesamurai.io and its pricing page in September 2026. Plans change, so open the page before you subscribe.

What Sale Samurai costs as of September 2026

The pricing page is headed “All features included. No hidden costs.” There are no feature tiers to compare, only two ways to pay for the full product, and no free plan is shown as of October 2026.

Option Price Effective per month What the page says
Monthly $19.99 $19.99 “Perfect for getting started”
Yearly $199.90 a year $16.65 “Two months free, every year”

Three details matter before you compare that table with anyone else’s:

What Sale Samurai is actually good at

Sale Samurai describes itself as “the all-in-one Etsy SEO platform and free Chrome extension”. Four parts of it earn the subscription for the right seller.

Research inside Etsy. The Chrome extension is free with every plan and, in the home page’s words, makes buyer data appear “the moment you search on Etsy. No tab switching”. It works on Chrome, Edge and Brave. For a seller who does their thinking while browsing Etsy, this is the feature that decides whether a research tool gets used at all. A dashboard you have to remember to open tends to go quiet after the first month.

Product validation before you make anything. The pitch is to “find what shoppers are already buying, then give them exactly that”. The keyword tools show how often a phrase is searched and how crowded it is, and the Competition Tracker follows other shops’ listings, tags and prices, with estimated sales. If your question is “is this idea worth an afternoon of making samples”, that is the question Sale Samurai is built to answer.

The A/B Listing Tester. This is the feature most of its rivals do not sell. The page describes testing “titles, photos, or prices head to head with your real Etsy traffic” and automatically promoting the version that wins. Guessing which of two titles converts better is common; measuring it is rare.

One price for everything. Because every tool is on the one paid plan, you never hit a tier wall halfway through a busy season. That makes the bill easy to predict.

Where Sale Samurai stops short

There is no free tier to fall back on. Once the 3-day trial ends, ongoing research means paying. eRank’s free plan, by comparison, has no time limit, and our Sale Samurai vs eRank comparison sets the two side by side.

One price for every shop size. A hobby seller with a dozen listings pays the same $19.99 as an established shop. For keyword research alone, cheaper plans exist: our eRank pricing breakdown shows paid tiers starting well below it.

The Listing Creator starts from keywords, not from your product. Sale Samurai says it will “Auto-generate titles and descriptions from proven, high-demand keywords” and “Fill all 13 Etsy tags with ranking terms in a single click”. That is useful when the keywords are the hard part. When the hard part is describing what you actually made, its materials, its size, who it is for, you still write that yourself and fit it around the generated copy.

It is Etsy only. There is nothing here for the Shopify side of a shop, so a seller listing the same product in two places still writes the second listing by hand.

The job Sale Samurai leaves on your desk

Research tells you which words matter and which products sell. It does not know that your mug is hand-thrown stoneware, holds 12 ounces and ships in a gift box. For many sellers that is the slow part of every new listing: a title inside Etsy’s 140 characters that still reads like a product, all 13 tags filled with genuinely different phrases, and a description a shopper actually finishes.

That is the job ListingBrief AI does. You write a few rough notes about the product, and it writes the Etsy title, the 13 tags and the description, plus the Shopify fields if you sell there too. The Chrome extension fills the Etsy and Shopify listing forms in place. It does not do keyword research, sales estimates or competitor tracking, so if you need those, a research tool still has a place beside it.

The two fit together well. Take the phrases Sale Samurai surfaces, add them to your product notes, and the finished listing is built around both your keywords and your product. To try the writing half without signing up, use the free Etsy title generator or the free Etsy tag generator. Our guides on writing an Etsy title and using all 13 Etsy tags cover the rules either way.

How to switch, or add a tool beside it

If you are leaving Sale Samurai:

  1. Note down the keywords and competitor shops you have been tracking before your billing period ends, because that list is the research you paid for.
  2. Record the winning versions of any A/B tests, so the lesson survives the subscription.
  3. Cancel before the next renewal. Access runs to the end of the period, so on the yearly plan there is no reason to cancel early.

If you are keeping Sale Samurai and adding a writer beside it, there is nothing to migrate. Paste your chosen phrases into your notes and generate the listing from there.

The verdict

Sale Samurai is a solid research platform with a clear shape. It is for sellers who want to validate products and keywords while browsing Etsy, and who would use the A/B Listing Tester, and its single all-inclusive plan keeps the bill simple. It is a harder sell for a small shop that only needs keyword lookups, since there is no free plan to stay on and cheaper paid plans exist elsewhere.

If the part of Etsy that eats your week is writing the listings rather than researching them, a research subscription will not give you those hours back. Pick the tool for the job you actually have: Sale Samurai for what to make and which words to use, and a listing writer such as ListingBrief AI for turning them into a finished listing.
